Dentistry

Dentistry is a branch of medicine dealing with the study, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, TMJ and related oral and maxillofacial structures. it is understood to subsume the now largely defunct medical specialty of stomatology.

ACMS has its own department of dental surgery established on the 3rd floor of the academic block. The faculty of MDC, Delhi Cantt is also affiliated with ACMS, supporting the main sub specialties of dentistry, prosthodontics, oral and maxillofacial dentistry and periodontics to name a few. Presently the department runs under the technical support of MDC, Delhi Cantt, the commanding officer being the HOD and technical advisor of the department.

A team of highly skilled doctors provide a wide range of care that contributes enormously to the quality of their patient’s day to day lives by preventing tooth decay, periodontal disease, mal occlusion and oro facial anomalies. These and other disorders can cause significant pain and discomfort. It is also instrumental in the early detection of oral cancers, and systemic conditions of the body that manifest themselves in the mouth, and they are at the forefront of a range of new developments in cosmetic and aesthetic practices.

Along-with direct patient care, research projects are also being undertaken regularly. dental camps are also organized regularly for creating awareness amongst the masses.
