The Department of Anatomy aspires to become the best at teaching the structure of the human body in a clinically relevant context. The anatomical sciences are essential disciplines for understanding medicine and form the foundation for medical studies. Our mission is to provide a strong foundation for new beginners by teaching basic science of medicine and surgery. Besides we also inculcate various research activities in our UG students and faculty. Our students are involved in various research projects under ICMR. We will strive for excellence in anatomy education by:

  • » Presenting the highest-quality education to our students.
  • » Developing and using the most effective and modern teaching techniques available, including web-based instruments.
  • » Advancing as a resource for our clinical colleagues who benefit from anatomic studies.
  • » Contributing to the improvement of medical education by conducting meaningful research in education and assessment.

The Department of Anatomy is committed to participating actively in education, research and service endeavors and to share anatomical knowledge. Our mission is to develop and promote medical knowledge by encompassing education, instruction, and research

The total teaching duration of Anatomy is 680 hrs for the First profession MBBS students. The department of Anatomy is committed to participate actively in education, research and service endeavours and to share anatomical knowledge. Major activities are centered around teaching and research. State of art teaching technology is adopted in teaching and learning of all sub-specialties of anatomy. We have Didactic Lectures of 280 Hrs, Tutorials of 40 Hrs and seminars by students for 40 Hrs.
Departmental Library: Our library has adequate numbers of books of latest edition which includes gross, clinical Anatomy and various other allied subjects of medicine to be used as text books and references.
